Vectormator when will it be released? – Pixelmator Community
Mon May 03, pm Support for AI files, specifically, is not on our roadmap but we’re thinking about adding more vector file formats to Pixelmator Pro in the future. Wed Jun 02, am Requesting this feature as well. I assumed this Pixelmator Pro Mac app store version would at least support Illustrator since it’s vector like.
Please consider. Thu Jun 03, am Adding the support for the AI file format would certainly expand the possible workflows and it’s possibly something we’ll reconsider at some point down the line but now isn’t exactly that time just yet. They are native to Adobe Illustrator and support Illustrator-specific features that Pixelmator Pro may not be able to read that easily.
Made it easy to drop gimp and inkscape. Totally worth it. Risk free, really. Love the Automator support. Why the edges of vector shapes are pixelated? Even on vector mode? There should be icon to make shape editable, not from a context menu right click menu.
Why I can not edit mask like in PS? I would like to paste mask from something I have painted. In PM I can not do this. I cant even operate on mask like in PS. Acorn can do it. There is no such thing in PS. But how do you guys draw without being able to lock a layer?
Do you just show hide all the time? Such an improvement. Great job on both the improvements to voice and program. A great start but eps is vital for us. I have no issue paying an additional fee for this inclusion because of how much I would rely on it. Thank you guys so much for all the work you do. Neville Dastur. Why the hell would you HIDE this feature.
It should be right up there clear and simple in something like the view menu. Also the shortcut you have chosen conflicts with snipping on Evernote. And Evernote is a fairly popular app. This feature is great and can only get better. It may not have every feature other vector apps have but its a great start.
I had this idea of unifying Vectors and Pixels into a single App for quite some time, as they share quite an amount of common controls — now you did it! Welldone for a Start. That would be an instant purchase from me! Love the UI btw, amazing app. Thumbs up for this! Also try the new Vector SNAP app… it easy to use via iphone and you can save the actual vector image to use later on. Printing made easy!!!
Since the trial period has expired ages ago, there was no other option but to buy it to have a look. It is impossible to import a vector shape. It is impossible to export a vector shape.
Same only option — a rasterized PDF. Can anyone please tell me, what am I supposed to do with it? Oh, come on. So please stop fooling people and start calling things their names. Vectors can be transferred via PDF format. Many cocoa apps use this already. Great work guys. I, actually, think you guys should talk to Andrew Stone.
Hmmmm Actually, handshakes with other companies might be nice. Seashore was great, Chocoflop was promising. I really wish there was a separate vector app or vectormator mode perfected to be able to import. Other than that, great app, keep it going guys. Supper cool. BUT, without some way to lock down the background, all but useless to me. I draw a couple of squares, want to select them to group them together, and inevitably end up moving the background.
Much cursing ensues and I switch to Sketch to actually get some work done. Seriously, how does anyone work when the background is so easily grabbed by accident? Joe G. Vectormator seems unpractical unless SVG support is there. Works well on Mavericks Needs individual vector manipulation. Needs to turn type not just to vector but individual vectors, line cut and join plus vector line duplication in a circle — say for seconds around a clock face. These are absolutely fundamental, totally essential.
Pixelmator also works well with Cheetah3D, a quite brilliant program and way ahead in ease of use. Cheetah also works seamlessly with Unity game engine not cheap but free if you publish with their Made with Unity logo.
Also Pixelmator works for working up stills for iMovie and Motion5. Go to hell Adobe — you took my money then dropped Freehand and Golive. I can still feel my pain when I read how adobe coldly killed fireworks! I dont know how you see us as a market, but there really is a void left by fireworks, and you need to fill it or somebody else will. There needs to be a tool where vector feels like bitmap editing tool.
I live Pixelmator. Its very very good. I only wish it had more optional for vector drawing. Andrew Watson. I love Pixelmator — I use it every day. I just purchased Pixelmator after reading a review on Lifehacker. I designed a logo over the past few hours.
Working with vector graphics in Pixelmator was much easier than Photoshop, which was pleasantly surprising. Excellent software though! I plan to use it as my primary graphics editor. Even a less sophisticated version, with syncing, and even limited editing possibilities… But, really, would be so useful to meet the customers. Please consider creating an even limited iPad version … A lot of people would buy it at 9.
There really need to be a GUI switch for this. Preferably a check box in one of the menus as well as a piece of text somewhere that tells you, that you are in vectormator. A lot of your shapes have small problems. This not only makes it difficult to align the length of a triangle with the side of a square, it also makes it jump in unpredictable ways when resizing it.
This is very annoying as well. THe shortcut to switch conflicts with Sophos virus protection, how the hell do I get back to Pixelmator mode??! Ausra Pixelmator Team.
If you were able to go into the Vectormator mode, you should be able to go back using the very same keyboard shortcut. This is great, but I noticed that I cannot save in a vector file format. So is this considered a beta test? I would love it if there was a way to save in a vector format in the very near future. Thanks so much for your efforts.
Sweety, Pixelmator is fully working app. Vectormator is a Pixelmator mode where drawing features are conveniently placed on your screen. You mentionvectormatorin the app but to me that does not make a lot of sense if it cannot read or export vector graphics SVG vectormator is not complete! It is really strange why after so many years the feature is still not there..
It seems that by using Vectormator other users could swap other software for vector graphics as well.. Why is it still not possible? Tue Apr 26, pm The workflow and features of vectormator are great so far. I really love the vector-like graphical elements. I would very much like enhancements to Pixelmator to include importing and exporting SVG.
Thu Apr 28, am I vote for the ability to import and export vector images. Fri Jun 03, pm Why are so many people using Pixelmator for vector work? I don’t use a flat head screwdriver for unscrewing a Phillips screw although it may work , so why use a raster based image editor for scaled vector graphics? A professional graphic designer would use Pixelmator to crop, touch up images, and any other photo based work, then use a vector based application to do the layout with the included touched up image.
Is this an educational problem? Or has the price point of Pixelmator lumped amateurs and professionals together?

Pixelmator Impoet. Follow thread. Fri Oct 23, pm Yes, please. SVG is super-standard on the web now, and Pixelmator «Vectormator» is already my favourite app for vector icons and graphics, even more so than apps designed for SVG creation.
It would be a dream web designers to use it for that directly. Love Pixelmator, but am forced to fee elsewhere ;ixelmator I need to open said files. I want to export to PDF as shapes so that it’s smaller and clear at all resolutions. Sat Mar 19, pm I am amazed it stil not there Just so we know. Are we one day going to see that.

Fri Jun 17, am Pixelmattor export from Pixelmator would be helpful in creating artwork for laser cutting, vectors for cutting and bitmap information for etching.
Pixlmator is an essential for using pixelmator with pixelmator import eps free development pixelmator import eps free since vectormator came out. I am currently exporting as a png pixelmator import eps free then converting to svg with other programs which is very frustrating!
Wed Nov 15, pm I see the most recent post ijport this is 11 months ago today is 15 Nov I’m new to Pixelmator, but definitely need to import existing EPS images from «the other company». I have a regular need to overlay a variety of already-existing complex vector art files onto images, and I can’t successfully stop using that other vendors apps if Pixelmator doesn’t allow me to epe this.
So, is there any movement on importing EPS? AI if pixelmator import eps free Wed Nov picelmator, pm Yes please! Thu Nov 30, am upvote. Because it’s a very good tool for doing vector work — except for being unable to export as SVG. That’s what I do at the moment and it’s bullshit.
I need to be able to see the layout around my bitmap graphics while editing them. Also there are major colour management headaches when you’re using two completely different applications to work on the same image.
Fri Feb 23, am Yeah, I actually bought Pixelmator specifically because I assumed it would handle proper vector input and output. I’d been thinking about purchasing for years, hadn’t pulled the trigger, I just got a laser engraver, I’m frustrated with inkscape and don’t feel like using the ancient pirated illustrator I have, so I bought Pixelmator, because it looked like it had great pixelmator import eps free tools, and was all set to compete with illustrator.
And, ok, it doesn’t import or export SVG or anything?
How do I open .eps? – Pixelmator Community – Developer’s Description
I work a lot with different logos and receive them as EPS files. Being able to import them as vector not rasterbased would be a huge benefit.
Tue Feb 25, pm Hey Conny, this would be a big project and, seeing as we already support SVG files, we currently feel we’re better off focusing on other improvements, especially as Pixelmator Pro is still primarily a raster-based editor. Of course, that not to say that we wouldn’t like to add this in theory, but I wouldn’t expect to see it in the near future.
Welcome to the forum! Sun Mar 01, pm by Andrius Tue Feb 25, pm Hey Conny, this would be a big project and, seeing as we already support SVG files, we currently feel we’re better off focusing on other improvements, especially as Pixelmator Pro is still primarily a raster-based editor. Mon Mar 02, pm by Wayne Morgan I think you are missing a major need from the community.
I do raster based editing and exports, but the images that we receive from clients or my own company are all. It seem strange that we should have to do a workaround just to get basic images imported to raster. This was always just a simple import on Photoshop. This seems to be the only basic function missing from Pixelmator when I switched from Photoshop. I assumed this Pixelmator Pro Mac app store version would at least support Illustrator since it’s vector like.

Mon Jun 25, am Thanks Andrius. What awesomeness is this regarding, if you can talk about it? Sun Dec 09, pm Another request for Vectormator. Now, I want to replace Illustrator. Thu Jul 18, am by Andrius Mon Jun 25, am There aren’t really any news I can share about this — a few other very awesome things are taking priority at the moment, so I wouldn’t expect a standalone Vectormator particularly soon if I’m being honest.
Thu Jul 18, pm by fakeforfee Thu Jul 18, am Do you have any news? Mon Aug 19, am I feel slightly reluctant speaking about another vendor’s product on the Pixelmator site. But, I too wanted to replace Illustrator after having ditched Photoshop for Pixelmator.
Sweety, Pixelmator is fully working app. Vectormator is a Pixelmator mode where drawing features are conveniently placed on your screen. I would recommend to have a look at Sketch app for vector drawings. Guys, this is really cool, but it does nothing for anyone who wants to trace bitmaps into vector format and export them as scalable SVGs. This feature is great! I create the shape, adjust the corner radius, but I fail to find where one could fill the shape with an already created image.
March and pixelmator still can not export vector formats. Benefit Card. SVG export please! Or at the very least release a. Or publish the file format for. Anything really to do the job that needs doing. Dan Finlay. Oh no! I assumed SVG export when I read vector support! And these cries have been ignored for three years? Damn, I want a refund big time. Adobe competitors pounce after subscription backlash — Welcome to Info-Pc. Mark Stewart.
Please publish this for all to read. Many thanks for Pixelmator use of very stable vector shapes. To illustrate the universality of our workspace bitmap screen dependence in standard icon art work, Pixelmator like Photoshop always makes Vector shapes available. Almost like photoshop, Pixelmator Vector shapes have limitations. For now, we will demo screen dependence to explore those limitations. Transformed shape snaps into the bitmap Pixelmator workspace with its very useful pixel-by-pixel bitmap Grid Option-Command-Apostrophe.
This will accommodate the fuzzy 0. Perform various shape alignments, and we all see that, whatever mode we use, vector shapes minimize margin degradation, while Pixel shape degradation is more pronounced and chaotic. Unfortunately, there is no way for Pixelmator to convert a Pixel shape to a Vector shape.
Even if Pixelmator is not for now going to use a vector workspace. Pixelmator vector shapes are very stable. Adjust workflows accordingly: keep shapes in vector format and Convert to Pixels only at the end. This way, almost like in Photoshop, we minimize shape margin degradation.
Hmm… Pixelmator has less bells and whistles, but is more [twice as] reliable. One last thing for the curious. If you try and copy a Vector shape from Pixelmator to Photoshop or visa versa , nothing happens. Convert to Pixel shapes only when absolutely necessary. Use the best shape margins, Vector shape margins.
Surprise Command-Shift-V pane reset sometimes makes big dif on quad cores. Mac 6-core Pixelmator is simply put, completely excellent. Has anyone checked out core?
